D’Anbino Wines are grown and made by the D’Andrea and Rubino families in Paso Robles. (Yes, we’re all related.)
John D’Andrea and Carmine Rubino grew up in a large extended Italian family in New Jersey, where winemaking was actually a big part of everyone’s lives. Around harvest time, all the Grandpas in would go down to the train station and pick up their orders of grapes from California. Then there would be a week-celebration of when everyone would crush and barrel the juice. At the end of the week every basement had a barrel of what would soon be the family wine.
Though John and Carmine each took their own career paths in the music industry, eventually they got everyone together, moved out west and started growing grapes in Paso Robles, CA. And here we all are!
WHAT MATTERS TO US:
Sustainability and the Environment - Our vineyards, under the care of Kathy D’Andrea, are one of the first to be labeled Certified Sustainable through the SIP Certification program. This means we take care to protect the environment that produces our grapes, protect the workers that help us grow them, and protect our customers from unnecessary chemicals and additives. Sustainability is something that we are VERY passionate about!
Music - Every member of the D’Anbino Clan is a musician, so music is a very big part of our lives. It’s also a part of who we are as a winery - it’s a part of our label, part of our tasting room (a full stage with live performances), it’s even a part of our bar (it’s made out of piano bits)!
Our Family - Working with family isn’t always easy, but making D’Anbino a family affair has been the dream since the beginning. Through the ups and downs so far, we can’t imagine this winery any other way. Every member of the family has a role to play, from winemaker to vineyard manager, marketing wunderkinder to tasting room queen, we all do our part.
